Mr Wolfe Aviation LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates Mr. Wolfe's A&P Prep, an iOS application that helps aviation maintenance candidates prepare for FAA written examinations. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
01 — Data
Information we collect.
When you use Mr. Wolfe's A&P Prep, the app interacts with our backend to deliver tutor responses. The following information passes through our service:
Tutor questions and responses
When you use the in-app tutor feature, the questions you submit are sent through our backend to Anthropic's Claude API for processing, and the response is streamed back to your device. We do not persist the content of your tutor messages or responses to any database on our servers. The tutor exchange exists in our backend's memory only for the duration of the request, and is then released.
Device-specific token
When you first launch the app, a unique token is generated and stored locally on your device. This token is sent with each tutor request to enforce a daily request quota. The token is not tied to your name, email, or any other personal information, and we do not persist it on our servers.
Operational diagnostic logs
Our hosting provider (Vercel) retains short-lived operational logs containing request metadata — such as question identifiers, message lengths (not message content), response timing, and error diagnostics. These logs are retained for approximately one hour for debugging and monitoring purposes, after which they are automatically purged by our hosting provider. These logs do not contain the full text of your tutor messages or the responses generated.
IP address
As with any web request, our hosting provider's infrastructure has access to the IP address from which your requests originate. This information is used by the infrastructure for security and abuse prevention. We do not separately log or retain IP addresses on our application layer.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, photos, or contacts. The app does not require an account to use.
02 — Purpose
How we use it.
We use the information that passes through our service to:
- Deliver tutor responses you request
- Enforce a daily usage limit on the tutor feature so the service remains available to all users
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or security incidents
- Diagnose technical issues and improve the app
We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
03 — Providers
Who we share with.
We share information only with the service providers necessary to operate the app:
- Anthropic, PBC — processes your tutor messages to generate responses. Anthropic's retention and processing practices are governed by their own privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
- Vercel Inc. — hosts our backend service and retains short-term operational logs. Vercel's privacy policy is available at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
- Apple Inc. — distributes the app via the App Store and TestFlight. Apple may collect its own usage data subject to its policies.
We do not share information with any third parties beyond what is necessary to provide the service.
04 — Retention
How long we keep it.
The content of your tutor messages and responses is not retained on our servers — it exists only for the duration of each request. Operational diagnostic logs at our hosting provider are retained for approximately one hour and then automatically purged. The device-specific request token is stored only on your device and is not retained on our servers.
For the processing leg handled by Anthropic, retention is governed by Anthropic's own policy. As of this writing, Anthropic retains API request data for up to 30 days under standard conditions, and longer in cases of suspected abuse. Refer to Anthropic's privacy policy for current details.
05 — Rights
Your rights.
Because the app does not use accounts, we do not store information that identifies you personally on our servers. If you believe we hold information about you and you want it deleted or disclosed, contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
You can stop all data collection at any time by uninstalling the app.
06 — Minors
Children.
Mr. Wolfe's A&P Prep is intended for users 17 years and older preparing for FAA aviation maintenance examinations. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, contact us and we will remove any associated data.
07 — Updates
Changes to this policy.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via the website.
